We all possess greater power and abilities than we realize.
That which is unseen is not unreal. In Greek, they said, “That which can be experienced, exists.” And therefore, it’s important to understand these words: True, real, and exists.
What is true is in self-created – truth is in the eye of the beholder.
What is real is agreed upon appearance of what is – reality is an agreement between two or more.
What exists is what is outside of us – existence is the external, ex-ist literally means, “outside, is.”
So are you living your truth? Or are you just agreeing to another’s reality? Or do you let your environment control you? Is your mood dependent upon the weather outside, or do you create your dreams no matter the condition of the external environment?
That is what separates a creator from a victim. Creators cannot be victims and victims cannot be creators. A creator is powerful only to his or her ability to be at cause of their lives. A victim is total effect and they will not be at cause. And a creator can only be at cause as much as he or she is capable of being the effect of his or her own creations.
If you wish to create the live of your dreams, your truth then you must rediscover your unseen power – you must taste the invisible force that lies within you.
How to Attract the Things You Desire
Let’s get something clear, that is, who you truly are. Let’s start with everything you are not…You are not your body, you are not your thoughts, you are not your reactive mind, you are not your past, nor your future, you are not your experiences, you are not your case history. You are the creator of all of that; you are a creator.
That is your power; your true self is creativity itself. You are far more capable of anything than you have likely given yourself credit for. You contain abilities to form thought-pictures, endless amounts of them, there are truly no limits to the imagination and there is certainly no limit to an infinite immortal being.
Your ability to create thought-pictures is the starting point of all there is. In your original state, you are the formless substance of life. Your ability to generate thought-picture makes the model, so to speak, into which this formless substance gives like to shape and form.
Call it visualizing or mocking-up – it is mentally seeing things and conditions as you wish them to be. It is the creating of an ideal scene. In condensing, your imagining faculties could be thought of as a sort of magic lantern, capable of lighting up your world as you see fit.
Remember those magic lanterns as a child? All you did was remove the slide and replace it with another to get a view of a more pleasant image. This illustrates the concept of the Creative Spirit on the plane of initiative and selection. The picture slide symbolizes your own mental picture – the lantern, the invisible powers of your mind; that is, until you turn on the light of your will.
That is to say, you light up your dreams and desire with the power of will, which is the Creative Spirit of Life, itself – yourself. With focus and gentle control to direct of the light of the Spirit’s Will, your dreams are projected onto the physical world as an exact replica of the pictured slide in your mind.
Tips on Visualization
If you are at all familiar with the Law of Attraction, some of this may be familiar to you. The Law of Attraction says like attracts like. This is true. And what gets in people’s way is their reactive minds. One will also attract that which they do not want, if they don’t want it bad enough.
Also, keep in mind that the Law of Attraction and visualization does not mean we simple sit back and accomplish everything with our minds without action – more on this later. For now, know that visualization takes understanding, communication and action. Visualizing your desires without a will steady enough and gentle enough to make every counter thought and feeling irrelevant to your pictured thought is about as useless as a magic lantern without the light.
On the other hand, if your will is adequately developed and your intentions are clear without any counter-effort or resistance, then you have tapped into one of your greatest hidden powers. The secret to a charmed life is to be able to be with or without, to have or not have, it is lightness of touch or what the Buddhist call non-attachment, that will cause good things to come to you, rather than studiously avoiding you.
Your current state is very important when you are intending a desired out come – after all, a dream or desire is just a self-created truth, or conclusion for the future. A dream or desire often solves a problem of the past, decides on problems or conclusions of the present, or sets a pattern for the future.
Here is something very important – if you decide to do something based on only solving a problem, with little or no attention on what will be gained, you will be unfulfilled when that vision is fulfilled. Ever do something that you thought would make you happy, then achieve it and realize you’re not as happy as you thought you’d be? Maybe you’re even unhappier than you were previously? This is what happens when we are focused on only solving a problem – on what’s wrong – as opposed to focusing on what’s right and what we wish to experience. The power of focus (attention) and intention are very important.
For example, I had a friend who wanted to move to Detroit to be in the city. He was thrilled for months talking about it and finally came the day he found a place to move. When he got there, he was unhappy and didn’t know why for a few weeks. Then with the help of a mentor he found out quickly that his original intention was just to get away from his family. He wanted to get out of his parent’s house and solve the problems that were occurring in the household by moving out. He had scarcely set up new purposes and goals in relation to being in Detroit.
Once he confronted this and set up new plans, a new vision of being in Detroit, he was much happier. He was excited to be in the city to take better photos, explore, meet new people and learn on his own. But the thing to see here is that regardless he had attracted his vision, but his intention and attention were not as clear as they could be. So make sure when you are visualizing your dream life that you are not solely fixing problems in your life, but also enriching your life with new experiences.
Here’s a quick exercise:
- Make a list of your future purposes and goals.
- What problem(s) will this solve in your life?
- What will you gain?
Compare the lists and make sure they are in balance. Do not ignore that your dream life and its goals are solving a problem of an old condition, that’s perfectly fine. Just be aware of them because there is no permanent solution – solutions usually become new problems later on if dragged out too long. So be sure to focus on what you will gain, learn and experience.
All said and done, happiness is the one thing which every human being wants, and the practice of clear visualization enables one to get more out of life than you ever enjoyed before. That is because happiness is the overcoming of not unknown obstacles towards a known goal. By becoming very clear on what you intend to receive out of life, by being very honest with your self, things move much quicker, as the unknown obstacles become known faster. And as your intentions become clear, opportunities arise.
When you first become aware of your own thoughts and desires, you may feel as if certain desires do not suit your purpose. Do not give too much concern about this, as our purposes become more and more refined overtime. At first, you may have one hundred purposes; some chosen by you, others influenced by others, but they are all useful to become aware of. There is no right or wrong purpose; per say, what is important is how honest you are with yourself.
